I absolutely love my 2016 Mini Cooper Countryman for zipping around the city, but lately I've been wincing every time I go through the construction zone on Al Wasl Road. The front end crashes over every little pothole and patch, and I can feel vibrations through the steering wheel that never used to be there. No leaks visible on the struts, but the car has about 140,000km on the original suspension and I'm pretty sure the dampers are just tired. The problem is I've taken it to two different garages and both quoted me crazy prices for "european car suspension work" that sounded like they were making it up as they went along. A Mini owner in my building mentioned that you don't necessarily need to go to a specialist garage if you find a mobile suspension tech who knows these cars. I was reading through https://suspensionrepairdubai.ae/mini-cooper-suspension-repair/ and they claim to come to you with all the tools and even do the alignment on site, which sounds almost too convenient. Has anyone here actually used a mobile service for Mini suspension? I'm specifically wondering if they can handle the weird front strut design on the Countryman where the spring and damper are separate, and whether they use OEM parts or quality aftermarket like Bilstein or Sachs. Also curious how they do alignment without a proper hunter machine in a shop. Really don't want to keep driving a car that feels this uncomfortable, but also don't want to get ripped off by someone who claims they know Minis but doesn't. Any experiences would help a lot.
