Flatbed vs wheel lift - does it actually matter for a simple tow?

So my wife's sedan has a transmission issue and I need to get it from our building in Discovery Gardens to a shop in Al Quoz. Nothing dramatic, just doesn't want to go into reverse anymore, so driving it myself is obviously not an option. I've been calling around for towing quotes and some companies offer a wheel lift truck for cheaper while others insist on a flatbed for "safety." Honestly I'm confused because back home we just hooked up whatever was available and nobody thought twice about it. A colleague mentioned that for modern automatic cars you really want a flatbed to avoid damaging the drivetrain, especially if the driven wheels are on the ground. I found a company offering Dependable Car Towing Service By 800Sayara Dubai and their guy explained that with a wheel lift they'd have to put the front wheels on dollies anyway because it's front wheel drive, so the price ends up similar to a flatbed. That actually made sense to me. Has anyone here had a bad experience with wheel lift towing on a newer car? Or am I overthinking this and any professional tow is fine as long as they're careful? Just trying not to turn a transmission problem into a differential problem too.
