Has anyone seen a psychiatrist specifically for insomnia or sleep problems?

I'm starting to wonder whether it's time to get professional help for a sleep issue that has gradually become a bigger problem than I expected.
For the past several months, I've been having trouble both falling asleep and staying asleep. Some nights I lie awake for hours, and even when I do manage to fall asleep, I often wake up much earlier than I need to and can't get back to sleep. The lack of rest is starting to affect my mood, concentration, and productivity during the day.
I've tried many of the usual suggestions such as limiting caffeine, sticking to a consistent bedtime, reducing screen time before bed, and improving my sleep environment. While some of those changes have helped a little, the problem hasn't really gone away.
What I'm curious about is how psychiatrists approach insomnia and other sleep-related issues. Do they mainly look at whether anxiety, stress, or depression might be contributing to the problem, or do they treat sleep disorders as separate conditions? I'm also wondering whether treatment typically involves more than medication and whether anyone has seen meaningful improvement through psychiatric care.
If you've worked with a psychiatrist for insomnia or chronic sleep difficulties, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience. What was the evaluation process like, and did they help identify factors that you hadn't considered before?
I'm interested in learning what others have gone through because I'm trying to decide whether seeing a psychiatrist is the right next step for my situation.
